Julie Neumann – writer, editor, photographer, web producer, dog entertainer – Austin, Texas.
Looking for a formal resume? How about my quasi-formal LinkedIn page?
To sum it up, I tell stories. They’ve evolved through poetry to newspapers to pixels. My primary tools are pen, paper, HTML, CSS, social media, a Nikon D80 camera and the Adobe Creative Suite. But I’m always looking for new mediums of expression.
And now telling stories is officially my job. I work on the Global Communications team at Yahoo! as a Storyteller. I previously worked as an editor at Offers.com, creating and curating original content with a focus on finance, fashion and technology products. I’ve also written about women’s issues, eating disorders, mental health, social change, Austin, the media, pop culture and music. I like to photograph Lacy Dogs, bands, nature, unique characters and daily ephemera. I really enjoy editing as well. There is something about taking a great piece of writing and making it even better that I find very satisfying. It is a creative process in and of itself.
No matter what the topic, no matter what the method, if I’m inspired, I will create.
I’ll occasionally post big updates and new favorites here, but most of my work is featured on the sites and networks listed to the right. If you have any questions, comments or just want to say hi, please email me at julie.neumann [at] gmail.com.

Hi Julie! I’m a graphic design student in Orlando, FL and I’m currently doing a school assignment where I am designing magazine ads for a small music festival that happens every year in downtown Orlando. I was browsing flickr and I found a couple photos on your page that would be perfect to use for my assignment, specifically one of the Local Natives and one of Japandroids from SXSW. (I included these bands in my hypothetical lineup.) I wanted to ask for your permission to use them in my project. It would strictly be just for this school assignment and not for any commercial use. I would greatly appreciate this and thanks for taking the time to read my message.
